QA&TEST Embedded 2021

QA&TEST embedded es la conferencia internacional sobre Testing y Calidad de Software en sistemas embebidos  que la empresa Software Quality Systems organiza anualmente. Este año 2021, durante los días 20,21 y 22 de octubre celebramos su vigésima edición en formato online.

QA&TEST reunió como en anteriores ediciones a profesionales del mundo del testing, la calidad  y el desarrollo de software provenientes de diversos sectores industriales como son el ferrocarril, la aeronáutica, telecomunicaciones, electrónica o los dispositivos médicos entre otros.

La conferencia abrió sus puertas con el keynote inaugural de Nancy Van Schooenderwoert y Brian Shoemaker, quienes nos mostraron cómo innovar a través de Agile tomando como base el sector de los dispositivos médicos pero extrapolable a muchas otras áreas de actividad.  Este primer día de conferencia se completó con charlas organizadas en dos tracks: Test Management y Test Automation y, en paralelo, los asistentes que así lo desearon pudieron asistir a los cursos de Fundamentos del Testeo de Software y Pruebas de Unidad.

Tras este primer día de gran contenido formativo, Vipin Jain, entusiasta de los sistemas IOT y con gran experiencia en ellos dentro de su empresa Metacube, impartió su keynote sobre cómo testear correctamente entornos IOT, haciendo una especial mención a las Smart cities.

Tras él, diversos profesionales como Bryan Bakker, arquitecto de test en la empresa holandesa Sioux Technologies, nos presentaron sus experiencias y mejores prácticas en cuanto a técnicas y aproximaciones de testing (el testing basado en modelos, cómo probar sistemas industriales de IOT, Risk based testing…). Igualmente, este segundo día ofreció la posibilidad de acceder a cursos formativos en testing y QA a los asistentes que así lo prefieron, en concreto a las formaciones sobre Fundamentos de Automatización de pruebas y Pruebas de Carga y Rendimiento.

Abrió el tercer día de la conferencia Gerie Owen con una inspiradora charla especial que ayuda a transformar el “aseguramiento de la calidad” en “ingeniería de calidad”.

Este tercer día contó con dos tracks en paralelo dedicados a la certificación en testing, con ponentes representantes de la industria médica o naval entre otros  y las pruebas de sistemas de inteligencia artificial.

El cierre del evento corrió a cargo de Dominik Obermaier con un keynote en el que compartió las lecciones aprendidas sobre IoT Testing y cómo lidiar con su complejidad y escala.

QA&TEST Embedded 2021

QA&TEST Embedded is the international conference on Software Testing and Quality Assurance for embedded systems organised annually by Software Quality Systems.

This year, QA&TEST celebrated online its 20th edition on the 20th, 21st and 22nd October.

QA&TEST received professionals from the world of software testing, quality and development, coming from different industrial sectors such as railways, aeronautics, telecommunications, electronics, or medical devices among others. The programme was designed to cover ever-emerging QA innovations and issues exhaustively, let’s have a look at the contents:

The conference  opened its doors with the inaugural keynote by Nancy Van Schooenderwoert and Brian Shoemaker, showing us how to innovate through Agile. This talk is based on medical devices, but the acquired knowledge can perfectly be extrapolated to many other areas of activity. This first day of the conference was completed with presentations divided in two tracks: Test Management and Test Automation and, in parallel, attendees could also choose to attend two training courses:  Software Testing Fundamentals and Unit Testing.

After this first day full of learning, Vipin Jain, an enthusiast of IOT systems with great experience within his company Metacube,  presented his keynote on how to correctly test IOT environments, making a special mention of Smart cities.

After him, various professionals such as Bryan Bakker, test architect at the Dutch company Sioux Technologies, presented their experiences and best practices in terms of testing techniques and approaches (Model-Based Testing, how to test industrial IOT systems, Risk Based Testing…). Likewise, this second day  also offered the possibility of accessing training courses in testing and QA:  Test Automation  Fundamentals and Load and Performance Testing.

The third day of the conference started with Gerie Owen with an inspiring special talk that will help us to transform Quality Assurance into Quality Engineering.

This third day also had two parallel tracks dedicated to Testing for Certification, with speakers representing the medical devices or naval industry, among others, and Testing of Artificial Intelligence. The conference was closed by the keynote speaker Dominik Obermaier  presenting lessons learned about IoT Testing and how to deal with its complexity and scale.

 QA&TEST Embedded 2021 was a success, in terms of attendance and contents. The closing video of the event is available here: Closing video
